You Know Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh made his debut with the movie Saat Hindustani. He ruled the bollywoodindustry with the title of angry young man in the 1970s. He holds the record for the most number of Best Actor nominations at the Filmfare Awards. In early days of his career in bollywood, Amitabh gave many flop films in a row. But in year 1973, he delivered his first hit film in the form of Prakash Mehra’s Zanzeeropposite Jaya Bhaduri. Later he did movies like Abhimaan and Namak Haram. He won Filmfare Best Supporting award for his performance in the movie Namak Haram. He also tried his hands in comedy roles in the movie Chupke Chupke.

He delivered his best performance ever in Yash Chopra’s Deewar. His power packed performance actually overshadowed the brilliant performance of the other actor Shashi Kapoor in the film. In 1975, he once again showed extraordaniry performance in the movie Sholay alongwith Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan and Jaya Bachchan. The film was even termed as the Film of the Millenium.

Later he decided to experiment with some other kinds of roles too and in the process he did a romantic movie Kabhie Kabhie and a displayed his comic timing once again in Amar Akbar Anthony. After that he played the double role in the superhit movie Don and won the Filmfare Best Actor Award. Trishul andMuqaddar Ka Sikander also earned him further Filmfare Best Actor Nominations. He did many films such as Dostana, Silsila, Lawaaris, Coolie, Shehanshah, Hum etc. He gave another splendid performance in the role of a mafia don in Agneepath.

He setup Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd. (ABCL) in 1996 but was declared as a failed company in the year 1997. But he once again make a strong comeback ( this time on small screen) with Kaun Banega Crorepati. After the super success of the game show, Amitabh once again started to act in movie. He was seen in Yash Chopra’s Mohabbatein alongwith Baadshah Shahrukh Khan. He accepted the fact that lead roles will not come to his way in the age of 60. So he decided to do supporting roles in the films like Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gum and Baghban. But his brilliant acting in Baghban once again provided him the lead roles in many movie like Aankhein, Black, Nishabd, Cheeni Kum etc. Hi recently released film was Bhoothnath in which he played the role of a loving ghost.
